Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of two people in connection with a Drive-by Shooting incident, which occurred in the Village East subdivision, on Wednesday. Lance Jamaul Harold Jr, 22, and Noel Malik Naverro Jr, 21, were both arrested for charges stemming from the investigation.
On October 9th, shortly after 10:30 am, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division were called to Kirkglen Loop in Houma, after information surfaced of a shooting incident in the area. As Deputies arrived, they located evidence which confirmed a shooting occurred and began their initial investigation. As the preliminary investigation continued, additional information was learned that the suspect vehicle was identified as a tan colored SUV, which was also linked through evidence at the scene.
As Deputies continued their investigation, Authorities linked the suspect vehicle to an address in the 300 block of Hobson Street, where the vehicle was located as they arrived. TPSO Violent Crimes Detectives spoke with the owner of the vehicle, as well as occupants of the residence, who were identified as Lance Harold Jr and Noel Naverro Jr. Detectives detained Harold and Naverro, who were brought in for questioning. Detectives completed a search of the residence by warrant, and the suspect vehicle was brought in for further investigation.
Detectives interviewed Harold and Naverro who both admitted to being within the vehicle at the time of the shooting on Kirkglen Loop. Both men denied knowing the suspect responsible, denied being in possession of a weapon, and denied firing a weapon during the incident on Kirkglen. Crime Scene Detectives completed a search of the vehicle in question and located evidence inside which was inconsistent with statements made by Harold and Naverro.
At the culmination of the investigation, Lance Jamaul Harold Jr and Noel Malik Naverro Jr were both arrested on charges of Aggravated Assault by Drive-by Shooting. Harold and Naverro remain jailed at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex, where they are each being held on a $100,000.00 bond by local judges.
Sheriff Tim Soignet applauds the amazing job of the TPSO Patrol and Violent Crime Divisions, for their work in this investigation. Sheriff Soignet said, “Our agency expects a great deal of effort and dedication to the protection of the people of this great parish from our employees, and this is another example of how our Patrol Division answered the call. This was an extremely senseless incident, which could have led to a very tragic ending. Our Patrol Division did an outstanding job in bringing this case to a safe resolution, and for that I am grateful.”
