Water Patrol

The proximity of Terrebonne Parish to the Gulf of Mexico, its oilfield and seafood industries and its status as "Saltwater Fishing Capital of the World" mean its abundance of waterways and wetlands draw major recreational and industrial boating traffic.
Where there are boats, there occur breakdowns, wrecks and strandings, among other problems.
Members of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office Water Patrol stand ready to assist.
Our Water Patrol agents respond to thousands of rescue requests per year. The hard work of these dedicated agents adds an extra margin of safety and comfort, for all who travel our waters.
